Statement of Faith

About God

There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.

About the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is a Divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, and convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.

About the Bible

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of man. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

About Human Beings

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God: he fell through disobedience, thereby incurring both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The prospect of the impenitent and unbelieving person is existence forever in conscious torment; and that of the believer in Christ is everlasting joy and bliss.

About Salvation

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men, and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life and become the children of God.

About Sanctification

We believe that sanctification, which is a setting-apart unto God, is threefold: It is already complete for every saved person because his position toward God is the same as Christ’s position. Since the believer is in Christ, he is set apart unto God in the measure in which Christ is set apart unto God. We believe, however, that he retains his sin nature, which cannot be eradicated in this life. Therefore, while the standing of the Christian in Christ is perfect, his present state is no more perfect than his experience in daily life. There is, therefore, a progressive sanctification wherein the Christian is to “grow in grace,” and to “be changed” by the unhindered power of the Spirit. We believe also that the child of God will yet be fully sanctified in his state as he is now sanctified in his standing in Christ when he shall see his Lord and shall be “like Him.

About the Family, Life and Human Sexuality

Marriage of a man to a woman is the plan of God and sacred in His sight. (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:3-9; Ephesians 5:18-32; 1 Timothy 3:4, 5, 12; Malachi 2:13, 14). The roles of husband, wife, parent, and child are clearly defined in Scripture. The husband is to be the leader of the home (Ephesians 5:21-32). The sexual relationship is sacred and fulfilling only within the bonds of marriage, and is condemned outside the marriage relationship. Any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery and pornography are sinful perversions of God’s gift of sex (Gen. 2:24; Gen. 19:5, 13; Gen. 26:8-9; Lev. 18:1-30; Rom 1: 26-29; 1 Cor. 5:1; 6:9; 7:3,4; 1 Thess. 4:1-8; Heb. 13:4). Human life begins at conception and that the unborn child is a living human being. Abortion constitutes the unjustified, unexcused taking of unborn human life. Abortion is murder. We reject any teaching that abortions of pregnancies due to rape, incest, birth defects, gender selection, birth or population control, or the mental well-being of the mother are acceptable (Job 3:16; Psalms 51:5; 139:14-16: Isa. 44:24; 49:1, 5; Jer. 1:5; 20:15-18; Luke 1:44).

About the Church

The Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.

The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, and prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the Gospel and observance of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper.

About Our Resurrection

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.

About The Lord’s Return For His Church

The Rapture of the Church is imminent and will be personal, visible and premillennial. This is the believer's blessed hope and is a vital truth that is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.  Following the Rapture the earth will experience the 3 1/2 years of tribulation followed by the second 3 1/2 years of The Great Tribulation; while in Heaven, the Bema (Judgment Seat of Christ) will occur, judging individual believers' faithfulness in this life.  This will come to an end with Christ's Second Coming where He will judge the nations and then establish His 1,000 year reign on the earth... So the Second Coming is Premillennial too.  At the end of the Millennial Kingdom will be the Great White Throne judgment of unbelievers from all ages...followed by the Eternal Kingdom, New Heaven/Earth.
